VIRTUAL UNIVERSITY 12TH CONVOCATION, SIALKOT.
12th Convocation (SIALKOT) held on Dec 03, 2022
Virtual University of Pakistan commemorated 12th convocation for its students from north-east of Punjab at Golf View Hall in Sialkot. As many as 956 VU graduates including ADP/Bachelor, BS, Masters and MS/M.Phil. graduates were conferred degrees at the Convocation ceremony. To acknowledge the outstanding academic performance of students in various disciplines, gold medal and merit certificates were awarded to the outstanding graduates.
The ceremony began with the beautiful recitation of the Holy Quran (by Qari Mohsin Raza), followed by Naat e Rasool ? (by Muhammad Ammar). To express the gratitude to the University, mentors and parents, one of our gold medalist student Ms. Zubda Muzaffar gave her graduation speech and acknowledged their efforts.
The convocation was declared open by Prof. Dr. Arshad Saleem Bhatti, Rector Virtual University of Pakistan. While addressing on this auspicious occasion he welcomed all the guests and thanked all participants for gracing the auspicious event with their presence. He highlighted the achievements of Virtual University, its leading role in delivering information and communication technology based education and contribution in the provision of quality education even to the remotest areas of the country.
He applauded the Virtual University administration to continue their semester activates during COVID-19 pandemic without any interruption. He said that the academic institutes foster the culture of academic excellence and in this process, Virtual University has constantly maintained high standards in all spheres to align future strategic directions.
He further said that the parents and teachers deserve to be congratulated the same as the students today. He asked students to always remain respectful to their parents and set targets and goals to achieve better results.
Speaking to the cheering graduates as chief guest, Prof. Dr. Munawar Sultana Mirza, ex-Vice Chancellor, University of Education Lahore recognized the efforts to promote higher education in the country. She gave a passionate keynote speech and emphasized/encouraged students to also gain knowledge in areas like Philosophy, Psychology, History, Salicology etc. other than Science & Technology to maintain the social fabric.
She further said that graduation is a significant milestone in every student’s career. It is also an opportunity for the University to formally recognize and honor the hard work of graduates.
Rector Virtual University along with Chief Guest distributed medals and awards among high achievers to celebrate dedication in their respective disciplines. Besides the dignitaries and families of the students, faculty members and a large number of students were present at the convocation.
